Pumpkin Unit
Our class loved learning about how a pumpkin grows! The students especially
enjoyed cleaning out the inside of a pumpkin and cooking the pumpkin
seeds. We cooked some of the seeds with salt and some of the seeds with
cinnamon and sugar. Thank you Mrs. Alexander (Hunter's Mom) for coming in and helping the students cook the seeds! I read the students a book called The Pumpkin Patch Parable.
It was a story about a farmer who turns a simple pumpkin into a
glorious sight. They learned that Jesus can clean our hearts and
transform our lives. God's love can then fill each of our hearts with
joy and light.
Firefighter Keller Visits Our Class
Our class was excited to have Captain Keller from the Hollywood Fire Rescue Department visit us and
talk to the students about fire safety. It is important to continue the
discussion at home about fire safety. This may be a great time to put together
a fire evacuation plan for your household.
Also, as a follow up, local Fire
Departments are always open and welcome tours of the firehouse for free. I urge
you to contact your local Fire Department to set up a tour for you and your
family. God bless.
1st Quarter AR Celebration
Congratulations to all of the students in our class for making their AR
goal for the 1st quarter! I am so happy that everyone was able to participate in our AR
Celebration. Each student is progressing nicely with their reading. Thank you Mrs. McGuire, Mrs. DiSorbo, and Hunter's Grandma for helping with our AR Cupcake Decorating Party! It was a SWEET time of celebrating!

International Day
Our class enjoyed learning about Australia. Our International Day Celebration was a lot of fun!
The day began with a fun parade through the Breezeway of the school. Then, the students rotated between classrooms to learn about missions, make a kangaroo puppet, eat a snack, make a boomerang, see a virtual tour of Australia, and play some Australian games. The day was filled with fun and excitement! Thank you Mrs. DiSorbo, Mrs. McGuire, and Ms. Galvis for helping during our International Day Rotation Party!
