Mystery Reader

Thank you, Mrs. Carbo, for coming in and being our Mystery Reader.  The children loved hearing the story about Sammy the Seal.

1st Quarter AR Celebration

We had a wonderful time celebrating everyone in our class achieving their AR goal for the 1st quarter. All of the children participated in a cupcake decorating party.  Thank you, Mrs. McCalla, for making the delicious cupcakes and sending in all of the yummy toppings for our celebration!

Thank you to our wonderful room moms for helping with our AR party!
Every student was given a new AR goal for the 2nd quarter.  It is my hope that everyone will achieve their 2nd quarter AR goal and be able to participate in a class picnic.  Please continue to encourage your child to read every day!

Pumpkin Unit

For a couple of weeks, the student have been learning about pumpkins.   To finish our unit, the students heard the Parable of the Pumpkin.  They learned that just like every pumpkin is different, God created each of us different and special.  They all got to help me pull out all of the yucky pulp and seeds from the inside of the pumpkin.  That yucky, slimy pulp is like the sin that's in all of us.  God made a way that all of our sin can be forgiven and washed away.  He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ.  After cleaning out the pumpkin, we gave the pumpkin a new face.  The Bible says that God can make us a new creation too.  Then came the very special part.  The light was placed inside the pumpkin.  We can become like that pumpkin - a glorious sight for others to see the love of Jesus in us!

After the lesson, we then roasted our pumpkin seeds.  Twenty-one out of twenty-three students loved the seeds.

International Day

We had a wonderful fun-filled day celebrating International Day.
We began our day with an exciting parade.
Mrs. Hoskins, Logan's mom, came in and spoke to the children about missions. She did an awesome job sharing with the children her experience of being a missionary.
The children had fun making their own snack.
They enjoyed playing an exciting game!
They even made a boomerang craft.
Thank you, Mrs. Hoskins, for speaking to the children about missions. Thank you also to Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Wickham, for helping out during our party rotations! The day was filled with lots of fun and excitement. However, the best part is that the children learned that Jesus wants us to go to all nations and tell the Good News of Jesus to all of the World.
